I come from a research background in the areas of reproductive mental health, eating disorders, and perfectionism and psychopathology. This skillset allows me to understand which treatments may be most helpful for my clients, the range of experiences among clients, and potential biases and cultural implications. My vast research experience also strongly guides the evidence-based therapeutic approaches I use in my private practice.
I have worked as a therapist both in outpatient mental health programs and a residential substance use treatment program. Some of these settings were dedicated to providing services only to women, while others were focused on serving men. I had the opportunity to support clients with concerns related to anxiety, depression, grief and loss, adjustment to a medical diagnosis (e.g. HIV), substance use, relationship conflict, interpersonal functioning, and coping, among others.
Languages offered
I am fluent in both English and German and am able to work with clients who speak either language.
